Always cheerful and fun to be with no one could ask for a better companion during those fun-filled teen-age years. Here's to our wonderful, never to be forgotten . . . the original "Life's a bowl of cherries" girlfriend. We did it all and did it again!
Friday night football games, Lake Erie vacations in the summer, skating at Forest Lodge every winter, swimming at White Pond, horseback riding at Garman Road Stables (the same street where Sue lived), dancing under the stars at Myers Lake, Garner Brothers for 'shakes and burgers, the Highland Theatre for movies, and - to top it off - a week long trip to NYC to celebrate our graduation from Buchtel High School.
And later - after college days - sharing all of our children's weddings.
From Florida - as we bid a tearful and loving farewell to our wonderful friend - we can almost hear Jim saying,
"I thought you'd never get here, Sue; but then, you always were late.
With loving memories of our dear friend, Sue

We lost our Aunt Sue this past week and we are sad not only for ourselves, but for our wonderful cousins because we know the pain of loss. The kindness, love and affection that you displayed everyday to my Mother, Father and our entire family will never be forgotten.
Despite the sorrow we all feel, I like to think of the glorious reunion that is now taking place in the Kingdom of Heaven and the welcoming committee that was surely there to greet you Aunt Sue. We love you and will always miss you.

With All Our Love,

The Kirkhams

I have such fond memories of the Barrett family. Sadly I will miss Sue's funeral, because I am in Florida. I remember Corydon Road, having our babies in MacDonald House together, journeys to Columbus, family weddings, and most of all her ready smile. What a wonderful family you have, and such a wonderful mother she must have been. God bless you all!

Where does one start? Mrs. Barrett was like a second mother to me growing up. Despite seven children and two dogs, there was always room for me in the station wagon! Whenever I think of her, I picture her seated with Mr. Barrett at the kitchen table in the afternoon drinking coffee. Mr. Barrett would say somthing funny and they would look at each other, each with a twinkle in their eye after all of those years, and Mrs. Barrett would laugh and laugh saying "Oh Jimmy!".
I am so sorry for what her children and family are going through now. How lucky we all are to have known someone so generous with her love.
One thing is for sure...Mr. Barrett had her cup of coffee waiting in heaven and there is laughter again.
God Bless
