Susan Taggart Morgan, 73, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born and raised in Fairborn, Ohio, Susan was a graduate of Fairborn High School and Miami University—where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority—and became an elementary school teacher. She enjoyed many wonderful years living in San Diego, Spokane, Sacramento, and Seattle, before returning to Ohio to reside in Cambridge, Kettering, and, for the past 12 years, Columbus. Susan was a loving, caring mother and mother-in-law to sons, Matthew (Long Beach, California) and Ryan, and Ryan's wife, Jami Smucker (Columbus). The true loves of her life were her grandchildren, Abe and Etta Morgan, with whom she spent some of her happiest days in the six years she was privileged to be called "Oma." Susan dedicated 11 years to The Raines Group, a real estate firm in New Albany, as a Director of First Impressions. In recognition of her outstanding service, the firm established the Susan Morgan Excellence in Service Award, to be given each year to a team member who exemplifies the high standards and work ethic she demonstrated throughout her career. Susan was a lifelong Methodist (a current member of the Worthington United Methodist Church) and lover of music, having been a member of the Cambridge Singers, the New Albany Chorus, and other groups, from high school musicals to choirs and choruses throughout her life. Susan is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Margaret Taggart, and husband Gary Morgan. In addition to her two sons, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren, she is also survived by her sister, Gretchen Taggart Moore of Columbia, Maryland, and their daughters, Melanie, Melissa, and Marlena; the Klausmeier and Taggart cousins; and Morgan nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Thursday, April 5, from 6-8 PM at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home at 515 High St., Worthington, OH. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6, at 1 PM at Worthington United Methodist Church at 600 High St, Worthington, OH. Burial will take place on Saturday, April 7, at 11 AM at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn, OH, where she will be laid to rest next to her parents.
