Thomas Wittich Obituary

WITTICH Thomas A. Wittich, DVM., age 78, of Mt. Sterling, died Monday, March 14, 2005 in Crowne Point of Columbus. He was born April 24, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of Roderick B. and Mary E. (Galbreath) Wittich. Dr. Wittich served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and in the U.S. Navy during WW II; member of The United Church; Masonic Lodge #269 F.&A.M.; Scottish Rite; Madison County Board of Health; 4-H Advisor of many years. Life member of The Ohio State University Alumni; OSU Veterinary Medicine Alumni Society; Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Preceded in death by brothers Roderick G. (twin) and Robert W., nephews David Leach and Mark Wittich. Dr. Wittich is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marjorie; daughter, Janie (Todd) Greiner of Upper Arlington; son, Tom (Karen) Wittich of Manhatten Beach, Calif.; grandsons, Witt, Blake, and Reid Greiner; mother, Mary E. Wittich of Grove City; sister, Elizabeth (Robert D.) Leach of Chicago, Il.; brother, Edward (Justine) Wittich of Lancaster; nephew and nieces and a host of friends; cousin, John (Harriett) Galbreath; special friends, the Dr. Rex Buller family. A Memorial service will be held 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at The United Church in Mt. Sterling. Rev. Steve Brown officiating. Family will receive friends in the Memorial Lounge at the conclusion of the service. Family suggest memorial contributions may be given to The United Church, 30 E. Columbus Street, Mt. Sterling, Oh. 43143 or Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital, 300 West Tenth Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43210. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of PORTER FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling.
