Vincent Lombardo Obituary

Lombardo, Vincent
1929 - 2018
Vincent Lawrence Lombardo, 88, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Vince was surrounded by the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Sally, his children, grandchildren, and other family members as he passed peacefully into the welcoming arms of his Heavenly Father. Vince, an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church since 1958, had a strong faith and a special place in his heart for the Sacred Heart, St. Joseph, and Mary, Our Lady. Vince was born in Dennison, Ohio on May 15, 1929. He was a graduate of the College of Steubenville; a Korean War veteran; and an employee of the State of Ohio Department of Taxation for 35 years until retiring to spend more time with his family and friends, who were always his top priority, pride, and joy. Vince loved playing and watching basketball, especially his son's Watterson Eagles, and was the world's biggest Notre Dame Football fan. Above all, he cherished spending each and every day with his loving wife. Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Mary Lombardo. Vince is survived by his wife, Sally; sons, Vincent (Cynthia), Vaughn (Margaret), Van (Maria), and Victor; daughters Victoria Stover and Valerie Conway (John); sister, Francesca Alves; his 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild whose lives are all better for having witnessed and received Vince's unlimited amount of love and wisdom. Family will receive friends 4-7pm Sunday, March 25 at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E Main St., Reynoldsburg, OH. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, March 26 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 Waggoner Rd, Reynoldsburg, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to St. Pius X Catholic Church; Central Ohio Spina Bifida Alliance; or Knights of Columbus, Council 5253.
