Wilfried 'Fred' Heinrich Harde, 82, passed away on December 5, 2020 due to complications from Covid-19. He was born in Germany to the late Karl and Maria (Kaiser) Harde. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his first wife Linda-Joy Harde and his second wife Helga Roth Harde as well as his sister Marga Mohr. Fred was not only a lifelong soccer fan, but a former professional player as well. Touring the world with the U.S. Army team, he served simultaneously as an athlete and ambassador for the sport he loved. Building a business from the ground up in the metalworks industry, Fred took pride in his work and providing an opportunity for others while also raising a family in Brewster, NY. An adoring grandfather, father, and stepfather, Fred is survived by his children, Melissa Kramer of Columbus, OH, René Harde of Ashland, MA and stepdaughter, Christina Matthews of Oakville, CT. He will also be missed by his siblings, Elfriede Memmer and Alois Harde; as well as by his grandchildren, Sophia Kramer, Chloé Kramer, Blaze Cass and Shane Cass. Family will receive friends from 5-7PM on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221.
