William E. "Bill" Brandon Jr.

Brandon Jr. William "Bill" E. Brandon Jr., was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 27, 1937, he went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2015. William joined the US Air Force in October, 1956, after 6 years of service with an honorable discharge, he relocated to Columbus, Ohio where he joined and became an active member of Union Grove Baptist Church (UGBC) under Rev. Phale D. Hale in 1962; he married Bertha L. Broadway on October 26, 1963. He assumed many important roles in the improvement of the Columbus community in professional, religious, local, and civic pursuits. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William and Helen Brandon, and John. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Bertha L. Brandon; his daughters, Lauren and Esther Brandon (fiancé, Vincent King); siblings, George (wife, Helen), Lorena and Joyce Brandon; sister-in-law, Jeanetta Brandon; nephews, Tony and Paul Brandon; and a host of loving cousins and friends. Memorial service 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Union Grove Baptist Church, 266 N. Champion Ave. Rev. Henry L. Johnson officiating. Arrangements entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long St. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the start of service.
