PETHTEL William E. Pethtel Jr., 67, passed away after a lengthy illness, Monday, July 16, 2007, at Mt. Carmel East, surrounded by his loving family. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Hazel (Evans) Pethtel; daughters, Theresa (Jim) Wellman, Donna (Jeff) Kellett, Sandy (Jeff) Smithberger; grandchildren, William Evans, Robert Wellman, Ashley and Nick Smithberger, Brittany and Jackie Kellett; sister, Charlene Butler; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and friends. Bill attended the Cornerstone Church of God in Gahanna and was a Navy veteran. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2007, 4-8 p.m. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20, 2007, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Fancher Cemetery.
