Jessie was my patrol Lieutenant from 1995-1999 when I worked for the Tupelo Police Department. He was a very kind and understanding person with a huge heart and compassion for all people. I left Mississippi in 2003 but have thought about Jessie many times over the years wondering how he was getting along. Good people will always remain in our memories. I hope he was dressed in a pair of his favorite exotic shoes of which he had many pairs. Fly on brother Jessie, we´ll see you again some day. My sincere condolences to his family and close friends. God Bless

I first met Jessie when I was still in school and he was working at Woolworth store in downtown Tupelo(my best friend's dad managed the store and we spent a lot of afternoons after school there)..when I started lending money at the old People's Bank, Jessie became one of my favorite customers(financed a good number of Cadillac's for him) Jessie was the type person that all he had to do was call and say I'm going to write a check..I never asked how much because I knew Jessie knew what he was doing, and without fail, he always paid them off way before due date. My second dad was police chief in Tupelo for many years, so stayed close to Jessie during those years..Tupelo is at a great loss with the passing of Jessie..he was a great, great man, and I was honored to call him my friend...I am not in town so won't be able to attend services..Lawson McClellan
