Robert Henry Womack passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Leeper Greenhouse of Traceway Retirement Community. He was 83 years old. Robert was born in Magee, Mississippi on June 11, 1942, the son of Willis H. Womack and Earnestine Maddox Womack. After his graduation from Magee High School, he earned an Associate's Degree from Co-Lin Community College. On August 12, 1962, Robert married the love of his life and soul mate, Ann Lambuth Womack and they cherished nearly 63 years together. A man with a strong work ethic, Robert's career began in retail with the Woolworth and Woolco Corporations serving in management of the department stores. After moving to Tupelo in 1982, he owned and operated Mr. Transmission until 1992. He also worked in sales for Hunter Engineering until he fully retired in 2017. During his leisure time, Robert enjoyed playing golf whenever he could and keeping immaculately landscaped lawns and flowerbeds. He and Ann have many treasured memories of trips to the Smoky Mountains, spending time in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Robert also had a strong faith which kept him grounded in life. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Robert leaves behind his wife: Ann Lambuth Womack of Belden; three children: Robert Kevin Womack and wife, Lisa of San Antonio, Texas, Bradley Gerald Womack and wife, Amy of Tupelo, and Leigh Ann Womack of Vermont; seven grandchildren: Amber Womack Gore and husband, Jared, Robert Brandon Womack, Jared Matthew Womack, Molly Elizabeth Womack, Emily Ann Womack, Anna Katherine Womack, and Virginia Bryant Womack; and two great-grandchildren: Charlie Beth and Jackson Allen Gore.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service times Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Pegues, Tupelo. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025, with Dr. John Boler officiating. Graveside services will be at Tupelo Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Womack, Jared Womack, Jared Gore, Harold Kay, Rick Cooper and Bob Sims.
The family would like to thank Traceway Cedars, The Leeper House at Traceway, and Gentiva Hospice for exceptional and sensitive end of life care.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask you to consider memorials being made to Calvary Baptist Church or Sanctuary Hospice House.
