Evie Jean Knowell Burch Evie Jean Knowell Burch died Saturday, December 19, 2009 in Tallassee, AL. She was 79. A graveside service honoring the life of Mrs. Burch will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on hour prior to service time on Tuesday at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Mrs. Burch was born in Houston County on April 29, 1930, the daughter of the late O.S. Knowell, Sr. and Luda Mae Culver Knowell. She graduated from Ashford High School, where she was Miss Ashford. She graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1974 where she received a degree in nursing. She was an RN for thirty years in Kingsport, TN. After retiring she moved to the Lake Martin area. She was preceded in death by brothers, O.S. Knowell, Jr., Tommy Max Knowell, Ray Allen Know-ell, and sister Annie Merle Mill. Mrs. Burch leaves behind to cherish her memories sisters, Ruth E. Buie of Dothan, Breal Johnson of Selma, Faye Watkins of Do-than, Gloria A. Moseley and her husband Dale of Elba, brother, Jerry Know-ell and his wife Jean of Daleville, sister-in-law, Virginia Knowell of Dothan and several nieces and nephews.
