John Tracy Howell John Tracy Howell, 56, of Dothan passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Howell was born April 14, 1957 in Spruce Pine, North Carolina and spent the early part of his life in Apopka, FL where he attended high school. He attended Wallace College and Birmingham Southern University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Lebanon War in 1982. He was employed with Army Fleet Support as an aircraft mechanic prior to his medical retirement. Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents John Roy and Margie Madelyn Howell, and brothers, Rodney Howell and Kenneth Howell. Survivors include his sister, Diane Richards and her husband Bruce of Dothan; brothers, James Howell and his wife Shirley of Apopka, FL, and Dennis Howell and his wife Emily of Newdale, NC; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
