Dr. Kevin Lee Freeman, a resident of Haleburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at a local hospital. He was 49. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Camp Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 4-6 pm. Dr. Freeman was born on October 31, 1969 in Dothan, AL and was a graduate of Ashford High School in 1988. In 1998, Dr. Freeman entered the ministry and attended Graceville Baptist College and taught at Bethany Bible College. After graduating he would serve at Webb Baptist Church, where he was a long-time member and youth pastor and would later serve at Southside Baptist Church in Ozark as an Education Director. He served as pastor at Antioch Baptist Church, Cowarts Baptist Church, and was currently the pastor at Camp Springs Baptist Church in Haleburg. Dr. Freeman enjoyed traveling, playing golf, family time, but most of all loved the Lord, preaching and teaching God's word. Survivors include his parents, Joe and Charlotte Dixon Freeman; his 4 children, Jared Freeman, Alyssa Freeman, Emmalee Freeman, and Jon Sullivan Freeman; their mother, Beth Freeman Coatney; his brother, Ron and Sherri Freeman and their sons, Ryan and Michael Freeman; his fiancé, Samantha Peters and her children, John Calvin and Clayton Peters; and a host of family members also survive.
