Robbie Mathis Obituary

Robbie Virginia Mathis of Eufaula passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 27, 2006, at Lakeview Community Hospital in Eufaula. She was 65.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, in the Chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Dothan with the Rev. Jerry Norris officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Crestlawn Cemetery in Avon.

Mrs. Mathis was born Dec. 30, 1940, in Birmingham. Mrs. Mathis was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Assembly of God of Taylor. Mrs. Mathis will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lucille Wilson; husband of 26 years, Ted Mathis; daughter, Cathy Elaine Breath; sister, Maxine Doyle; brother, Billy Wilson.

She is survived by two daughters, Gina Brown, Eufaula, Vickie Messick and husband, Sam, Dothan; three sisters, Bobbie Gurley and husband, James, Trafford, Doris Hayes, Mesquite, Texas, Lou Milacheck and husband, Jerry, Kern, Texas; grandchildren, Michelle Hartsfield and husband, Shannon, Lee Messick, Phill Hobbs Jr., Lonnie Brown Jr., Kimberly Lancaster and Donald Gene Hughes Jr.; great-grandchildren, Ann Kathryn Hartsfield, Reed Hartsfield and Isaac Hobbs; several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Lee Messick, Phil Hobbs Jr., Lonnie Brown Jr., Donald Gene Hughes Jr., Ricky Dixon and Ronnie Loggins.
