Robert Eugene Presson

Robert Eugene (Bob) Presson, Lt. Col., USMC, Retired, age 87, of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Sunday, August 9, 2015 in Florala Health & Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 14, 2015 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Ben Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 12:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 200 Office Park Drive, Suite 303, Birmingham, AL 35223, Team RWB, 5560 Shellfield Road, Enterprise, AL 36330 and the Enterprise First Baptist Church Building Fund, 302 North Main Street, Enterprise, AL 36330. Bob was born in Norman, Oklahoma April 22, 1928. He graduated from Norman High in 1946. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in 1950. He was commissioned into the Marine Corps and served 20 years as a fixed and rotary wing pilot where he performed tours in Korea and Vietnam. He retired in 1970 as a Lt. Col. and settled in Enterprise, AL. He also completed a Master's Degree in Aerospace management from the University of Southern California the same year. He was active in community affairs prior to his illness, to include the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, The Red Cross, local school parent organizations and MOAA. He was the owner of Presson Realty for many years. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Presson, Enterprise, AL; three daughters, Nancy Pickett (Sam) Thomasville GA, Sarah Ozment (Ron) San Antonio, TX, Laurie Corley (Bill) Cleveland, TX; two sons, Robert Presson, Jr. (Maria) Enterprise, AL; Bill Presson, Concord, NC; one brother, James Presson, Norman, OK; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
