Roy Kenneth Blackshear, Sr., a resident of Columbia, died Thursday morning, April 13, 2017, in a Graceville, Florida hospital. He was 87. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, April 15, 2017, in Gardens of Memory with Pat Andrews and Angel Clardy officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Mr. Blackshear was born in Richland, Georgia, son of the late Richard Leroy Blackshear and Martha Elena Davis Blackshear. He lived in Port St. Joe, Florida before moving to the Camp Springs Community of Henry County in 1963. Mr. Blackshear was a member of the Camp Springs Baptist Church and the Masonic Order. He was retired from Georgia-Pacific at Cedar Springs, Georgia. Mr. Blackshear was preceded in death by a brother, Davis Blackshear. Surviving relatives include his wife, Madeline Andrews Blackshear; a son, Roy K. Blackshear, Jr. (Kathy), Zachary, LA; a sister-in-law, Maudie Blackshear, Columbia; three grandchildren, Austin Blackshear, Connor Blackshear and Karaline Blackshear; several nieces and nephews including, Andy Andrews (Sandra), Jerry Andrews (Donna), and Debbie Miller (Chris); several special great-nieces and great-nephews. Serving as active pallbearers will be David Holloman, Bryan Miller, Chris Clardy, Jeremy Jeffcoat, Clint David Clardy and Doug Jeffcoat.
