Patti Thygerson Obituary
Patti Ann Davis Thygerson
February 15, 1955 - July 8, 2025
Patti Ann Davis Thygerson was born in Morenci, Arizona, to Jerry Mosby Davis and Patsy Katherine McCarty Davis on February 15, 1955, and was lovingly known as "Sis" to her brothers, Mike and Mick.
Raised on McCarty Flats near Duncan, Patti Ann treasured her childhood, helping her father on the family ranch and playing with cousins. She attended Duncan High School, where she lettered in varsity volleyball and tennis as a freshman and was voted FFA Sweetheart.
Patti Ann married her high school sweetheart, Randy Thygerson, and together they raised two children: Amy Lu (Jones) and Pacen Randall Thygerson. She later began a career at Valley National Bank in Duncan, where she was honored two years running as Arizona's Top Teller, winning trips to Kauai, Hawaii, and Puerto Vallarta.
A spirited community member, Patti Ann loved working at the Duncan Horse Races (she had an uncanny knack for picking winners), and she joyfully supported local ropings, FFA, and was a Women's Club member. She traveled all over the country with Pacen during his PBR bull-riding career.
Above all, she was most proud of her family, and for the past several years had been living closer to them, sharing life with Amy and her grandchildren. To her grandkids, she was lovingly known as "Muma." Muma was able to enjoy family dinners, movie nights, tons of basketball games, gymnastic competitions, fun trips, and so much more.
Patti was hospitalized for a minor surgical procedure not knowing it would result in a month-long hospital stay, multiple surgeries and that she would not be returning to the home she shared with her family. With Amy and Pacen by her side day and night, watching her strength and spirit on display as she battled through pain and complication after complication, she passed from this life on July 9th.
She is survived by her children, Amy (Neal) and Pacen (Victoria); grandchildren, Samantha (Austin), Rhett, Weston (Kaycee), Rees, Gia, Kingston, Jojo (Justin), Carley, Joseph (Mireya), Iasic, and Devin; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Oliver, Emerson, Beau, and Lucas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy (2013), and two grandchildren, Annie Lu Brown and Dallin Michael Brown.
A "Celebration Of Life" will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 4 p.m. at the Old Virden Church/Community Center, with a sunset burial to follow at the Virden Cemetery. All are welcome to join the family in honoring Patti Ann's joy, warmth, and legacy.
