Brian Welch Obituary
Brian was born on July 9, 1964 in Providence, RI. He was the son of the late James E. Welch and Sally Ann (O'Brien) Welch. Brian lived in his younger years in West Barrington and attended Barrington schools. Along with his family he was a communicant of St. Luke's Parish. Brian was active in Little League and was a devoted Patriots fan all of his life. To say that he lived a colorful and daring life in his early years would be an understatement.
Brian was an accomplished retail salesman and he had successful sales/management careers with Sears and Home Depot. Along with his wife Jean, they moved to Naples, FL to be closer to his brother Michael and eventually moved to Bar Harbor, ME where he and Jean operated several businesses. They were also proud owners of a community general store outside of Bangor, ME.
Brian is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jean Smith Welch of Guilford, ME as well as stepson Travis Smith of Bar Harbor. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael J. Welch of Fort Myers, FL and Kevin W. Welch of Warwick, RI. Brian also leaves several aunts and uncles as well as cousins of the extended Welch family. He leaves several lifelong friends in Rhode Island and Maine.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Luke's Church, 108 Washington Road, Barrington, RI on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. A
private inurnment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation that would make the world a better place. In particular, Catholic Charities of Maine at 207-781-8552 or McAuley House in Providence, RI at McAuleyri.org (an updated notice will be also published closer to the date).

Brian was always capable of making someone laugh. He was one of the funniest people I know. He also had a very sweet and soft side, although he may not have wanted to admit that. He will be missed. Rest my peace, my friend and brother.
