Christopher Tise Stormer 55, beloved husband, father, son, cousin and uncle passed away unexpectedly in his home in Columbia, Missouri on January 8th, 2023. Christopher was born in Evanston, Illinois on July 13,1967. He grew up in Evanston, and San Francisco before moving to Barrington, Rhode Island in 1982. He attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and graduated from the University of Rhode Island cum laude in 1992 with a BA degree. He moved with his wife Candace to Columbia, Missouri in 1993 to pursue degrees in Counseling Psychology and Veterinary Medicine respectively. Christopher changed his career plan and began work for Dollarhide Building Corporation in 1993. He built his real estate, business and property management career there, eventually becoming partner.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, David Edward Stormer and his grandparents H Neil and Louise Conner Tise of Columbia, Missouri and Edward Elmer and Helen Elizabeth Stormer of Downers Grove, Illinois. He leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Candace Dawn Stormer, and two sons, Conner Christopher Stormer and Andrew Bernhard Stormer of Columbia, Missouri. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Tise Cherry and stepfather Michael O B Cherry of Palm Desert, California, his uncle David Neil Tise of Bangkok, Thailand, and his sister Megan Ilesha Powderly and nephews Narayan, Narada and Rama of Melbourne, Australia. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Christopher played high school football and rugby, and continued his rugby career at URI. He enjoyed helping coach his sons' little league teams and supported their scouting careers.Christopher was an avid hiker, cyclist, skier and swimmer, who devoted his free time to his family and their multiple pets. He rode the MS 150 multiple years. He was a devoted fan of the St Louis Cardinals. He is a former member of Metro Rotary, and a current member of the University of Missouri Jefferson Club as well as a deacon at First Christian Church in Columbia.
Bourbon, it's history, tastes and production became a passion for Christopher. He became a collector of fine bourbons and started The Wednesday Whiskey Society, a local men's group, to expand their knowledge and enjoy new and old friends.
A memorial service is pending. Memorial contributions in Christopher's honor may be made to the Food Bank of Central & Northeast Missouri or the
charity of your choice.
A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, April 15th at 11am, on the terrace at Les Bourgeois Bistro, 14020 W Hwy BB, Rocheport, Missouri.
