Angela Manalastas Obituary

Angela Demapeles Manalastas
May 21, 1967 - May 9, 2016
Pinole, California
Angela Demapeles Manalastas, 48 years old, died peacefully on Monday, May 09, 2016, surrounded by her beloved sons, mother, brother and close family/friends at her home in Pinole, California. She lived life fully and did not allow cancer to dictate her life. Her unconditional love for her sons, her faith and hope kept her strong to the end.
Angela, the only daughter of Romualdo and Andrea Demapeles and sister to Mario and Rene, was born on May 21, 1967 in Berkeley, California. She attended St. Joseph Elementary School and Presentation High School. After graduating from California State University, Hayward, she worked in social services for the elderly at Alameda Care Center, Pinole Senior Village, and most recently Bay Area Health Care.
Her sons, Alex and Matthew, were her life. Angela was a loving and devoted mother who treasured simple moments, including vacations to Hawaii and Disneyland, driving them to school, going to the movies and attending their games. She was their biggest fan.
Angela loved romantic movies and chick flicks. She was a sports enthusiast who loved the St. Mary's Panthers, the Giants, the 49ers, and the Warriors.
Angela possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Known for her sweet, gentle and hospitable nature, Angela had the gift of bringing people together and making each person feel special and loved. She valued family tradition and hosted an annual holiday ornament exchange for 26 years. With her camera in hand, she captured treasured memories which are now etched in the hearts and minds of all who attended.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, May 13, 2016, 4-8:30 pm, at Holy Angels Funeral Home at St. Joseph Cemetery, 2450 Church Lane, San Pablo, CA 94806.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 837 Tennent Avenue, Pinole, CA on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 1:30 pm, followed by a reception to celebrate Angela's life.

I miss you dear cousin and will always remember your welcoming smile and loving hugs. I treasure our conversations and our time together and conversations. You kept me company during my commute to and from work. And, you made me feel that I always had something important, funny or special to say.

You were a gift to all of us. I will always admire your courage and strength and willpower. You are no longer suffering or in pain, and this is what gives us peace.

I will see you again. Love and hugs always!

Judy
