ARNOLD WAXMAN Obituary

Arnold (Arny) Harold Waxman Resident of El Sobrante Arny passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2012 at the age of 90. Arny was born on January 12, 1922 and raised by his parents, Thomas and Vera Waxman, in the Bronx, New York. Arny lived a very colorful, multi-faceted and fulfilling life. He attended Public Schools 44, 80 and 6 as well as Morris High School in the Bronx; and, attended Juilliard School of Music where he played the violin and mandolin. Following an injury which sadly ended his music career, Arny obtained a degree in sheet metal engineering and worked in the Brooklyn U.S. Navy Yard during World War II. After World War II ended, Arny attended New York University where he obtained a degree in electronic engineering. In 1949, Arny and his former wife, Adele, moved to California where he and Adele raised their three children. Arny lived in California for the remainder of his life. During his working life, Arny was involved in various types of businesses which included electronics, appliance and cabinet manufacturers' representation, automobile sales and kitchen and bath remodeling at House of Kitchens in Albany, California. Arny will be very fondly and affectionately remembered by his wife, Michele Waxman; his sister, Sybil Sokol; his four sons and their wives, Jonathan and Sally Waxman, Richard and Victoria Waxman, Michael Waxman and Tre Curran, and Michael and Jodi Prachar; his grandchildren, Aaron and Amy Waxman, Becky and Jordan Clar, Hannah Waxman, Alexander Waxman, Foster Waxman, Zodie Waxman, Gloria Waxman, Angelica Prachar, Brianna Prachar and Callie Prachar; his great grandchildren, Madeline Waxman and Calvin Waxman; his nieces and nephews, Ronni Dreisbach, Jeff Sokol, Mardi Hallowell and Tom Hallowell. He was beloved by his many cousins and numerous friends. Arny touched the lives of many people with his wit and charm, sense of humor and generosity. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, April 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Wilson & Kratzer Mortuary located at 455 24th Street, Richmond, California 94804 (510-232-4383). The family requests that all donations be sent to the American Diabetes Association.

Arny: A friend that signified the word "friend", As his friendship had no bounds. A smile from the heart with an out stretched hand, to help when the need arose.
