I am so saddened to hear of Corlee's passing. She was such an important part of my growing up, and always an influence in my approach to adulthood. I am so sad that we would talk every year or so on the phone and promise to get together for coffee but never did.

I was so stunned at the sad news of your beautiful wife Corlee. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. It is difficult to come up with the right words to try and comfort you my friend, and let you know how truly sorry I am. Please know that you and your family are in my heart and prayers and that you are thought of often. In my heart and soul, I believe she is still with you, all around you, and always will be, for love is eternal. They say it’s the only thing we take with us when we leave this place. If you need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out. So many people love you Dennis, as was evidenced yesterday at Corlee’s celebration of her life. What a beautiful testament to you both! I was so moved by the sheer outpouring of love for you and Corlee and your family. Dear Dennis and family,

Corlee,
Too often we are reminded how short and fleeting life is. Too often we are reminded how fragile we are. But, in all cases, life is orecious and special. Especially in your case.
You never failed to have a kind word and a sweet smile for anyone you ever met, whether it was a new friend, an old friend, or someone you met once. You were always kind and resepctul, ever with a hand out to those around you.
Your legacy lives, not only in your son, your beautful, God-given gifts of your grandchildren, your husband Dennis who gains his considerable strength in no small part from you but in the loving effect you have had on everyone whoever crossed paths with you.
You will never be gone. You will live on in my heart and in the hearts and minds of all.

Dear Corlee,
I know where you are and that makes my heart full, but we all wonder why so soon? I learned a poem when my Aunt passed in 1976 which I will shrare with you. It is my favorite:
Those we call dead are just away,
have left us for another day.
Have wandered to another land that we know not nor understand.
But it must be exceedingly fair
Because so long they linger there.
But soon ah soon will come the day,
when all of us will fade away,
to join the ones that we call dead
Who've wandered onward just ahead.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I came to one of your jam's back in 2003. That was the first time i met Corlee that night i jamed. I was just there in Jan. 2009 and she saw me at the door to pay a cover, She rushed to the door person to stop him from charging me to come in. I'm going to miss her very much. My condolences.

I wrote a poem for Corlee:
I sit around and wonder,
and watch the days go by.
I look at all the pictures' and ask why oh why?
You've always been there for me. because you were my friend,
and I was there for you,
until the very end.
But now it's time to let you go,
your spirt now is free.
Even though you won't really be gone,
because you'll live inside of me.
So when you have to be left
at your resting place,
I will always remember
your smiling beautiful face.
This is hardly a goodbye
so I won't cry anymore,
because you're in a better place
then you were before.
Even though I will miss you,
and I'll think about you everyday,
you'll always be my friend,
that's all I have to say.

I know there are no words that can help with your loss. I hope you can all find peace in the many people who loved Corlee. She will be so missed. I personally have lost a dear friend, who I could tell anything to. She never judged, just offered a kind word, or big hug, which ever was needed. Even though my time with her was so short, I am thankful to have known her. She will always be in my heart. As will all of you.

Ron always talks about how sweet she was, and I (Jackie) remember little sidewalk chats with Dennis--it was so obvious how strong your love and marriage was.
