Jane,

I can't tell you how very saddened I am to hear the news of your daughter. The loss of a child is the worst fear of every parent, and I can't imagine the terrible pain you must be in. I can only pray that your memories of Devon, and your new foundation in her honor, can help you through this devastating tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

While we never met Devon, words don't do justice to our feelings, we have, for your loss. May the Lord, friends, and family get you through, day by day. We love you!

Dear Jane, Scott and Mitchell,
My heart just ached when I learned of the news today. I fondly remembered Devon coming to the office to sell girl scout cookies and the stories that you proudly shared with me of her learning to read, and vacations you took with her smiling for your underwater camera. Please know that you are in my thoughts.

Take care,
Cris Mulder

Dear Jane, Scott & Mitchell.

It's been a week since I learned the sad news. My heart goes out to you. Our lovely Devon... always so gentle, loving and happy... always with a book in her hand. I remember she used to read while I combed her hair or while we ate breakfast before school. We will all miss her very much. My thoughts are with you...

A flower in the gardens of our lives has been trimmed far too early in the season. None of us will ever forget her shining brilliance in virtually everything she was and did. Of course, Sachi and I feel like a member of our own family was taken from us and we will grieve along with you for quite some time. Our wish in her absence is that she is remembered fondly for what she delivered in her 13 years with us: light, sensitivity and a glowing enthusiasm for that which needed her/our attention the most. Be well, please.

Jane,

I can't imagine the range of emotions you must have been feeling the last week. By now, you know how many people care about you and Devon, and my hope is that you can lean on your faith and depend on those who care about you.

I also pray the people you and Devon have touched will gain from this situation how precious every moment is with the ones we love, especially our children.

Jane and Family,

As my family knows all too well, there are no words to describe the loss of a child. We move forward with the support of our family and friends and the memories of great times that we enjoyed during our brief time together on this planet, trusting that our child is happy in a far better place and that we will meet again some day. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Devon was my best friend, more than that she was the twin sister I never had. She taught me so much about life, I am the person that I am today mostly because of her. Devon changed my life in more ways than I can count and I can never be grateful enough for the time I had with her.

Devon's Family,
I got to watch your beautiful little girl swim with my son. They would spend most of the time talking of course and swimming when they'd get caught. My daughter has her sweet letter in her 7th grade yearbook that will always be treasured. I got to see her every week and you Scott during lunch time. We are holding strong for you and your family. With sadness and deep love for you all. Najee, Jalia and Mrs. Robinson.

Devon...our sweetheart,

You have touched so many hearts, and you will be greatly missed. If only you knew how much. I became to love you very much when I was your nanny in Chicago. Your twinkling eyes, and that wonderful smile that always made me smile. We had so much fun, and you made sure that we went out of the house every day....to the park, to the petting zoo, to the library, and so much more. An angel child, but now you are an angel. Rest in peace Devon Rachel, xxx your best friend Rhian xxx

Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin. Devon was in my fifth grade class at Alcott Elementary in Redmond, Washington. I was so upset to hear of Devon's passing, because I remember what a funny, kind, and smart girl she was. I remember that she had a dog named Pickles, because she just loved pickles so much, and how she ran around at recess playing tag or capture the flag. She was an amazing person, whom I wish with all of my hear that I stayed in touch with, and I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Marvin family,
I can't imagine your grief at losing such a sweet child. As Devon's 5th grade teacher, I will always remember her spunk, intelligence and friendly attitude. She was such a delight to all of her classmates and to me. My prayers are with all of you.
