JACK A. SHAHOIAN

Loving and adored husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Jack Shahoian went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 16th, 2005, at the age of 78. Jack was born in Fresno, California, on November 27, 1926, was raised in Oakland and remained a resident of Oakland thereafter. He graduated from Oakland Tech High School and later served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II on the USS San Francisco. He owned and operated Savemore Market on Park Blvd. for over 30 years. Our beloved "Pa" had a kind and generous heart, fervent devotion to family, dry wit and endearing ways that will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving wife, Marie Betty; son, Jon, and his wife, Jerilyn; daughter, Joan, and fiance, John Elstead; grandchildren, Adam Shahoian and his wife, Elizabeth, Alisa Assefa and her husband, Tsegab, and Lindsey Shahoian. He is also survived by his dear brothers, Sam and Robert, and his loving sister, Christine Wright.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass on Wednesday, August 24th, at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Piedmont.

Dear Jon and Jerilyn,

I was so sorry to hear of the recent loss of your father and father-in-law. I remember seeing him at the store on several occasions and thinking he was the source of such a wonderful family.(it shows!) We hope that your time of grief is eased even just a little, knowing that people are thinking of you during this trying time.

Love,

Suzanne Ramos and Family
