Jon Erickson Obituary

Resident of Pittsburg
Jon Erickson died peacefully with his family by his side on August 27th, 2016. He was born in Vallejo, California, lived his childhood in Yerington, Nevada, and was a resident of Pittsburg, California for over 50 years. Jon was a graduate of Pittsburg High School class of 1969. He attended Bethany Bible College and Diablo Valley College. Jon worked as a machinist at Bishop Wisecarver in Pittsburg for 43 years. Jon was a member of Light the Bay Church where he served on the worship team, was a board member, and taught Bible classes. He was a longtime fan of the Giants, Warriors, and 49ers.
Jon is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Rosalee Ostertag Erickson, his daughters Cara (Jamie) Hussey and Christine Lopez, and granddaughters, Alexa Erickson-Stephens and Addison Hussey. Jon also leaves behind his mother Gladys, brothers David (Janice), Daniel (Cathy), Daryel (Rachel) and sister Martha (Paul) Hildreth, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Wesley.
A celebration of life will be held on September 9th at 11 a.m. at Light the Bay Church, 1210 Stoneman Avenue, Pittsburg.
The family would like to thank John Muir Hospitals, Dr. Michael Sherman and staff, and Vitas Hospice Care for the care Jon received.

To the Erickson Family,
We, who are IN CHRIST, will see him again on the other side. We will meet him at the Eastern Gate with all the others who have put their Trust and Faith in the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords-Christ Jesus. To those who don't have Jesus in their lives yet and knew Jon, I leave you with 1 John 5:11. Look it up for it is the Truth about our lives. Jon was an example of a believer and be-longer in Juesus here on Earth.
