Karen Martin Obituary

Karen Martin
Feb. 11, 1944 - August 15, 2014
Resident of San Ramon
Karen Ann Martin was granted her angel wings on August 15, 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Karen had touched during her short, yet very memorable life. Karen Martin's life would seem too short by many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Karen's reassuring smile and humble presence will be a memorable gift. She gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Karen spent 42 years coming up through the ranks becoming an operational manager for Kaiser Hospital, proving to us that hard work pays off. Karen loved to be with her family, her three grandchildren and animals. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Manny Martin, daughter Deanna, and son Steven. Sister Sandi Detata and brother Michael Burrows. Daughter-in-law Tara Martin and three grandchildren, Grayson, Logan and Gabriella. Karen is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Anita Burrows. A prayer vigil will be held Sunday, August 31, at St Raymond's Church in Dublin at 7:00pm. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held Monday, September 1, at 10:30 at St Raymond's. Karen's family requests that donations may be made to ARF or your local animal shelter in memory of her love for animals.

I worked with Karen at Kaiser, Walnut Creek for several years. Karen was always full of life and so much fun to be around. I am so sorry to hear she has passed away. My thoughts are with her family.
