Lorraine Mary "Alonso" Lathrop

LORRAINE MARY (ALONSO) LATHROP November 6, 1934 - July 14, 2007 Resident of Tracy Lorraine Mary (Alonso) Lathrop, 72, passed away peacefully at New Hope Care Center on July 14, 2007. She and her adoring husband, Glen, spent their first twenty years of marriage raising their young family in Livermore. In 1977, they relocated to Tracy, a place they have called home for more than thirty years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as an office manager for Dr. Severin's medical office in Livermore for almost twenty-five years. She was affiliated with St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Beta Sigma Phi philanthropic sorority, Las Damas women's club, and her local bridge club. She enjoyed solving jigsaw puzzles, watching 49er games, shopping on QVC, and cooking holiday dinners for her family. Lorraine is survived by: her loving husband of 52 years, Glen Lathrop; her three children, Greg Lathrop of Oregon, Cindy Fraser of Livermore, Jim Lathrop of Tennessee and his wife Lori; her four grandchildren, Aimee Lathrop of Woodland, Jenny Fraser of Livermore, Travis Lathrop and Kyle Lathrop of Tennessee; her siblings Ernie Alonso and Linda Rowlett; and several aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by: her father, Ernest Alonso; her mother, Mary Johnson; her aunts and uncles, Rose & Antonio Lorono, also Louise & Peter Macias. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lorraine's life on Thursday, July 19. The day's events will begin with a 9am visitation and 11am prayer service at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. in Tracy; 12:30 internment at Memory Gardens, 3873 East Ave., in Livermore; immediately followed by a reception at 2100 Pleasant View Lane in Livermore.
