Dr. Abeliuk was one of our favorite doctors to work with in the workers' compensation system. He was a genius, he was always accommodating, and his work was thorough. We will truly miss his presence in our world. Blessings to his family and friends. Our hearts are with you.

With great sadness at learning of his sudden passing, I extend my condolences to Dr. Abeliuk's family and loved ones. He was a kind man, a good man, a very gifted man. I knew him for just a brief time but could see how special he was. His light will shine with us forever and dwell in our hearts always.

Oscar was exuberant in his love of people, nature, and culture, and his life and work embodied his intelligence and empathy. His nature and his interest in people made him the ideal person to capture the essence of Sara Levi, our matriarch, in his film Sara of Rhodes.
With gratitude for his role in our lives, and with sympathy for those he left behind,
The family of Sara Levi.

Oscar was a very special man and our lives are richer for having known him. We will miss talking with him and listening to his many interesting stories about his life and adventures. Oscar's intelligence, warmth and humor were experienced by all who came in contact with with him. A truly amazing man, he leaves his legacy not only through the documentaries he produced, but the many ways he helped others, touching lives in unique and profound ways. Our hearts hurt for the loss of him in our lives, but we are grateful and blessed to possess the special memories he left us with.

Oscar's last words to me shortly before his untimely death were "You're a good friend". It's Oscar who was the good friend over many years' time. As a research librarian I worked with him on his widely-varied projects on the history of neurology, Easter Island, the araucaria trees of Chile, Darwin, and so many others. Indeed, as his cousin Ronna has said, he was very generous and had a big heart. May he rest in peace.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, condolences to all the Abeliuk family. I hope you can find comfort at this difficult time. I hope the words at 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can serve as a hope to you all.

Oscar was a mensch and a very generous and sweet man. We found out we were cousins several years ago and spent many happy times together. May his memory be forever blessed. May his family be comforted among all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
