Shirley Freitas Obituary

Shirley A. Freitas Oct. 25, 1934 - Feb. 19, 2004 Shirley Freitas, a 43-year resident of Danville, died peacefully in her home on Thursday, February 19, 2004 among family after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 69 years old. Shirley was a wonderfully loving, caring and giving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She has left an imprint on every person's life she touched. She had a way of finding beauty in everyone and letting each person in her life know how special they were. She will be greatly missed by so many. She is survived by her husband, Tony, with whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 25, 2004, her three daughters, Joanne Day of Danville, Jan Freitas-Nichols of Portland, Oregon, and Julie Pebler of Benicia, her sons-in-law, Mark Nichols and Terry Pebler, her eight grandchildren, Greg, Stephanie, Alyssa, Lauren, Cam, Alex, Amanda and Christian, and her sister, Patricia Gilman of Los Altos. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 1pm at the Community Presbyterian Church, 222 West El Pintado Rd. in Danville. The family asks that donations be made in Shirley's memory to Kaiser Hospice, 200 Muir Road, Martinez, CA 94553. Archiving grandparents memorabilia, many distant cousins. Remember her father fondly from my childhood in early 1960's, never met Shirley or her sister Pat.
