Betty Hobbs Obituary

Betty Lou Carter Hobbs, age 92, passed away on May 5, 2024. Betty was born Dec. 10, 1931, in Georgia to Griffin and Rachel Carter. She was passionate about her family and Calvary Baptist family and enjoyed spending time and laughter with both often.
She is survived by her two daughters, Helen (Ike) Lewis and Sherrell (Ron) Dill; two daughters-in-law, Kay Hobbs and Brenda Hobbs; nine grandchildren, Patricia (Chip) Lacy, Scott (Mary Edna) Lewis, David Hobbs, Jenny Hobbs, Johnny (April) Shelley, Matthew (Tiffany) Shelley, Brittany (Glen) Bishop, Alex (Lora) Burdick and Chris (Whitney) Bowers; and many loved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; husband, Amos Alexander Hobbs; her three children, Amos Ferrell Hobbs, Sheriff David Curtis Hobbs and Creasie Ann Secord; and great-grandson, Cory Thomas Sweat.
Viewing and funeral services will take place at Calvary Baptist Church of Monticello, 285 Magnolia St., Monticello, Fla 32344 on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. The viewing will take place at 10 a.m. and the funeral will start at 11 a.m. In lieu flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society.
