William J. Koulis

William J. "Bill" Koulis, 60 of Rockford passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He was born September 19, 1946 in Kandalos, Greece the son of James G. and Angeli D. Koulis. William was a graduate of Indiana University and received his MBA from Northwestern University School of Business, Evanston. William was one of the owners of Manor Enterprises; which own local Manor Restaurants and the Atrium Restaurant in Rockford.

He will be sincerely missed by his family and the countless friends he made through his years.

Bill was a member and a founding father of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Elgin.

Surviving are his wife, Roberta Suzan McGaw Koulis; his step daughter Margaret Loren McGaw; two sisters, Sylvia (Petro) Koutsopanagos of Florida and Christine Alemis of Elgin; two brothers, John (Christine) Koulis of South Elgin and George (Stella) Koulis of Elgin; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-Helen.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 6 at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 525 Church Rd., Elgin with Fr. Andrew Karamitos officiating. Burial will be held in Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, where trisagion services will be held at 6:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 525 Church Rd., Elgin, 60123 or St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 108 N. 5th St., Rockford, 61107.
