Paula Sue (Haney) Minegar, 74, of Elkhart, formerly of Union, Michigan, passed away after an extended illness on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Greenleaf Health Campus. She was born on Feb. 22, 1951, in Elkhart to the late Perry and Eleanor (Arko) Haney.
Paula was also preceded in death by her twin brother, Mark Haney. She is survived by her daughters, Chessa (Justin) Johnson and Brittney (Robert) Tone; four grandchildren; brother, Mike (Vivian) Haney; two nephews; and her companion, Mathew Kidder.
In accordance with Paula's wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. Paula will be laid to rest with her mother, Eleanor, at Rice Cemetery, 400 James St., Elkhart, IN 46516. A graveside service will take place there on Tuesday, May 13, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating.
Paula was a kind and fun-loving person to be around. In her earlier years she worked at the pro golf shop in Naples, Florida, and later worked as a laboratory technician for 37 years at Bayer. From her experience at the pro golf shop, Paula developed a love for the sport and made three hole-in-ones. Paula loved being out on the lake where she could soak up the sun, enjoy the water, fish, and sip on margaritas with her family. Her grandchildren caught baby turtles in the lake and they played with them all summer. They became temporary pets and made sure they were released back into the lake by Labor Day.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing various card games with her family and would playfully accuse her brother, Mike, of cheating anytime he'd win. Paula was an excellent baker and made the best Christmas cookies. Paula was a beautiful person and when she smiled the world couldn't help but smile back. She will be dearly missed.

My beloved friend I will miss you. I am so happy I was able to come home and see you. I will always cherish all the wonderful memories of our good times. 54+ years of friendship. We worked together, raised our kids together, cried together and laughed together, even played cards together which was one of your favorite things to do. They bring a smile to my face thinking of you and all the silly things we did. You have raised two of the best daughters anyone could ask for. I will miss our chats, our yearly visits but I will forever cherish our friendship we shared. So until we meet again my beautiful friend save my place. I love you Paula
