Guadalupe Wright Obituary

Guadalupe G. Wright - After 89 years, Guadalupe G. Wright completed her life's journey on October 20th, 2010, she was granted her wish to be with our father above. The daughter of Pablo and Maria de Jesus Garcia, she was born on October 11, 1921 in El Paso, TX, where she was one of eight children. She graduated from Bowie High School and went on to meet her Mr. Wright(David) and had six children David III (Angela), Rebecca Harris (Leslie), Andrew, Alexander (Marie), Grace Heaton (Michael) and Mary Wright. In addition to mothering and nurturing her family she was an avid gardener and loved to do the daily newspaper crossword puzzles. In addition to her six children, she leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Leslie, Lane, Alyssa, Christopher, Andrew, Ashley, Cristal, Jennifer, Franco, and Alexander, and one great-granddaughter Elyse. She was preceded in death by five of her brothers, one sister, and her parents, and her husband of 60 years, our father. She leaves one brother, Ricardo Garcia of El Paso, TX. She was a true inspiration, as a Mother, a perfect Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She always preserved her home and had an eye for beauty. But within and beyond all of this, she was our mom, the person who raised us most directly, and influenced us most. Vaya con Dios for you and our father are in heaven. We will cherish her memory, her lifelong accomplishments, and her loving, tender disposition. Her legacy is us, her family. We will forever love and miss you! Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 26, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Harding-Orr & McDaniel Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. To our Mother, I found this in my Mothers China cabinet. I also want to thank everyone who has reached out to us, friends, relatives, neighbors. You have all helped just with your friendly smiles, and your kind words. I was very proud and honored to care for my parents, these last couple of years. They meant so much to me. They were my life, these last couple of years. They helped me, and my brothers and sisters were always there for me and my children. There is a part of my whole being, that now feels lost. But like the song "Amazing Grace" I will be found. Thank you Mom and Dad, you are always in my thoughts and my prayers. It comforts me to know that you are together again. Enjoy your Eternal life, and we will all be together one day. We Love You Always.

"Mother"

No nobler thought
My soul may claim
No softer word
My tongue may frame
Than that one word
Of Mother.
Of all the compassion
Sweetness and love
Of all the goodness
Of heaven above
God Bless that
One word, Mother.

And God Bless all of You.

May God continue to watch over your family. Just as in life your parents needed to be together and the good lord answered their prayers. Your mom was a wonderful person and I'm sure all of you have those same qualities. Sleep in peace Mr. and Mrs. Wright

To All My Cousins...I'm at a lost for words. My heart goes out to all of you. I know that losing one parent is difficult but losing both of them so close together must be extremely difficult. My Aunt Lupe and Uncle David are once again together. May they both rest in peace. Know that they're watching over all of you and your families and everywhere you go and in everything you do they'll always be with you. On behalf of my family,my mother and my brother know that we're thinking and praying for all of you.

To our beloved mother:

You can only have one mother
Patient kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you.
When other friends forsake you,
To mother you will return,
For all her loving kindness,
She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus, take this message,
To our dear mother up above;
Tell her how we miss her,
And give her all our love.

For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you've earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we'll eternally keep

Thank you mom we miss you.
