To The Silva/Barragan families,
Please allow me to join the thousands of individuals who were blessed to have had the opportunity of knowing and being touched by such a great man as Jose Silva, Sr.
We came to El Paso during the War on Poverty years working on a community organizing project en El Segundo Barrio in the late 60's and one of the giants of South El Paso whom everyone recognized, and directed us to, was Mr. Silva. Everyone looked up to him from politicians ot residents of the area and people from Mexico! He was generous to everyone that went to him. Not only did he help individuals and families financially, he always had a good word for everyone and all went away knowing that they had been blessed to be in his presense! He, and Mr. Jose Santos and Mr. Hector Bencomo, opened doors, assisted and created opportunities for thousands of individuals who were blessed by their thoughtfulness, generosity and counsel, and I am one of those individuals.
Later I became a close friend to Jose Angel Silva, Jr., Uncle Ed Barragan, and other family members. My life has been enriched by this family and I will charise these blessing forever!
Con mucho respeto y amor para ustedes en estos momento dolorosos
