Adan Chinchilla Obituary
November 28, 1968 - January 6, 2022
Del Mar
The brightness of Adan's life lives on in our memories with his untimely passing. Adan was a multifaceted lover of people, places, and husband, Mitch Brean. A citizen of Del Mar, Adan could be seen running on the beach most mornings early, even before sunrise. He ran to stay fit and condition himself for marathons around the nation.
An exceptional goal for Adan was competing in the 50 States Marathon Running Club. The many friends Adan met at meets in all 50 States, kept him running competitively. His quest was realized in October 2021, in New Jersey, when Adan completed his final 50th State-run. It was one of Adan's proudest life achievements.
Close to home, Adan volunteered with St. Peter Episcopal Church thrift shop in Del Mar over the years. Adan was a self-taught artist working in acrylic paint. Adan's love of animals was one of his favorite themes in his many paintings. He often painted pet portraits for his friends.
Around his Del Mar neighborhood, Adan placed his painted palm husks depicting Grinches for all who happened upon them. It was but one of Adan's creative and magical outlets in his life for others to enjoy.
With Adan's energy and compassion for others, he established a non-profit, ESCOLA PRIMARIA DE MAKANDZANE (www.escolaproject.com), to help school children in the remote village of Makandzane, Mozambique.
Adan and Mitch traveled several times to Makandzane to bring school supplies and donated clothing for the children. The non-profit aims to raise enough funds to build a school for the children of Makandzane. Adan and Mitch returned from their third trip to Mozambique in late December 2021.
Mitch, his many friends and family have been so blessed by Adan's presence, humor, mischievous nature, and his zest for life. Truly a friend, Adan will be missed.
Along with his husband, Mitch, Adan is survived by his parents, Flerida and Fernelli; siblings: Alberto, Kathia, and Martha; nieces: Noelia and Maria Paula; nephews: Fabricio, Esteban, Fabian; cousins: Floribeth, Ileana, Rodolfo, Eugenia, Harold; and many friends.

Dearest Mitch,
I was very saddened when I read of Adans passing. I will miss my hug & peck on my cheek when seeing him on my walks. He never failed to bring a smile to my face, making my day special. Sending you a big hug. May God wrap his arms around you & comfort you as you heal.
