Louis Hartman Obituary

Louis A. Hartman Louis A. Hartman, age 89, of Erie, formerly of Wesleyville, died Saturday, September 27, 2008. He was born in Erie on March 24, 1919, son of the late Andrew and Josephine Hartman. Lou was a member and former choir member of St. James R.C. Church. He loved to sing and enjoyed early morning rides around Presque Isle. He was a member of the Commodore Perry Chorus and American Legion Carl Neff Post #571. Lou was employed with Lord Mfg. for 30 years, retiring as an Inspector in 1983. Hewas a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII. Lou is survived by his wife, Louise Seib Hartman; two children, Barbara Monschein of Harborcreek and Robert Hartman (Mary) of Wyomissing, Pa.; four grandchildren, Eric Hartman (Leah), Gretchen Shansky (Jeff), Brian and Michael Monschein; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Ally Shansk; a son-in-law, Gary Monschein; five step-children, Robin Seib, Rae Lynn Belknap (Denny), David Seib (Peggy), Donald Seib (Mary) and Anita Murray (Stephen); many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Lou was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jane Hartman; a grandson, Craig Monschein; and two brothers, William and John Hartman. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc. East, 2607 Buffalo Road, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. James R.C. Church. A Full Military Service will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery conducted by Carl Neff Post #571. Louise, sending my sympathy to you and your family from Bethesda, Md. Sorry for your loss of Louis. He was such a genial guy.
I remember being in Mercy line dance class and your being serenaded on Valentine's Day. Also the trip we took to Banff Canada with both of our husbands.
