You've been gone 11 years there's not a day that doesn't go by that I don't think about you I found Journal I used to write in and I found a poem I wrote for you when you passed I miss you so much and wish you were here give me a big bear hug but I know that I will see your smile one day until we meet again I love you my friend you're never forgotten... Here's the poem
Life sometimes you can't understand it or explain it why are the people we love the ones we lose. the times we laughed and the times we cried don't take them for granted or they'll surely pass you by sometimes I get angry and ask god why the people we love have to die but now I understand why God took you that day you are truly an angel in every way so now I look up instead of looking down and put on a smile instead of a frown and when we say life can't understand it or explain it that still might be true but some of life's answers are found within you

So....it really has taken me this long to write something on here. Everytime that I would try to write something on here, it seemed like all of my words were all in a bundle and I did not know what to say. Basically I want to say Matt I Love and Miss You, and you will always be missed by many...You were the friend that anyone could depend on, a shoulder to cry on....you really meant the world to me and many other people... then everything turned into a blur. Mr. and Mrs. Irish I still send my deepest condolances to you and Ryan....Matt hopefully you are looking down helping to guide me through life...The only favor that I ask is for you to meet me at the gates...Ok hun...I miss you with my full heart, the same way the I love you...RIP Matt

to the family- i recentley was going threw some photos of mine, and i noticed a picture had a couple of my brothers buddie's in it. In the corner is matt, the guy who was nice enought to open the door, i never realized i new matt, untill i looked at this photo.Matt will never be gone, because with all the love we all have, he is always in are hearts and minds.

You were a true friend. I have known you since elementary school and I am lucky to have known you that long. Although I lost contact with you, I know that as soon as I saw you again, it would be like we never left. You will always be in my heart and I will always see your smiling face.

I thank God that he gave me the best next door neighboor and friend I could have imagined. You mean more than words can express to me. I have know matt not as long as others but in the time i knew him he was always there for me. I was always there for him. i thought of matt as a brother my dad and i treated him like family.I dont think that i ever saw matt without a smile on his face.He kept me laughin even when i was in the worst of moods he got me smiing he had that quality and he never lost it.i know matt is lookin down on us today and watchin out for us all. i will continue to visit the spot where matt lost his life and think about why it had to happen. My deepest condolences go out to Matt's family. I have known him for quite a few years now and ever since I met him he was always smiling and trying to make everyone around him laugh. No matter how much he could make you mad, it was impossible to stay mad at him. If it wasn't for him I never would have met a lot of my friends now and I thank him for that. You will be missed more than is able to be put into words.

I am truly sorry for such a tragic loss. Matt was just an innocent person who's life was taken in a matter of seconds from someone who didn't take one second to see how this would effect lives. Matt truly touched each and every person he met.Even if that means just meeting someone and saying, "Hi, nice to meet you." Matt was not only a friend to everyone, he was a big brother. Like someone said, God does have his hands full now, but we all know that matt is looking down on us, and assuring us that everything is gonna be ok. My past memory of matt was playing in the pool, being a fun loving kid. My most recent was of him taking the time to talk to me and ask me how I was doing. and telling me,"Take care of yourself." Matt truly touched lives. You are so blessed to have had such a wonderful son who went out as a Hero, and will be remembered by his smile, care, and Love for everyone. Take care of yourselves. R.I.P. Matt was a very special young man. If I was in a bad mood, he would always find a way to make me smile, which couldn't haven't been very easy at times. Matt never judged anyway one and wanted to be friends with everyone. I hope that each of us who was lucky enough to know him, will try and do the same. We will never forget him.

Your Aunt Melinda spoke very highly of the good kid you were; what a tragedy to have been taken from this life the way you were. He was a great man, who befriended anyone. He looked beyond appearances and that says a lot for his character. So know it is up to all of you to carry on his legacy, I am sure he will not be let down, for his spirit will live on through each and everyone of you. I cannot begin to express the pain I feel in the passing of Matt, he truely was like a son to me, knowing him like I did for the past 10 years or so has left a tremendous emptyness in my heart. He was such a great friend to both of my son's Scott & Matthew. You raised such a great young man who would do anything for anyone anytime no question's asked and to me there's nothing greater in life than to have a friend like that. I did not know him well, but what I did know I loved. He was the nicest person that I have ever met in my life. Knowing him that one year I hope made a difference in both our lives. Knowing what he did makes a big difference in mine. Sacrifice is one of the greatest gifts of all, and he made his, which cost him the gift of life. Everyone loves Matt, like he was our brother. He will always be in our hearts. He was the best guy around to give a hug to, and was always there when we needed him. He was a best friend to all of us. I feel a breeze and i know it's you. I can't comprehend not having you here. You were my best friend for so very long. But now it seems terribly short. Some of my best memories were the ones at your pool when we were just kids. And so many others growing up with you. I miss you more than words can say and songs can display. You taught me so much bro. Somehow you always wore that famous smile, even in the worst of times. How did you do that, I wish you could have told me, I could use that now. I try to think of what to say and all I come up with is why. Irish was the most sensitive and caring human I've ever known. Though I've only know him since the summer, he was one of the best friends I've ever had. At times I thought he was crazy when he'd go over those damn hills off roading in betty but it was all good fun and we'd do it again. The long nights we chilled in red apple eatin all the food...something I will never forget. All his friends know he always had your back then and now. And the times I got mad for him blowin out my lighter, I couldn't help but laugh today when he did it. Rirish, I love you kid, you know i'd be there if I could. I'll see you again. Irish family and friends, My condolences go out to anyone who at any point in time saw Matty, hung out with Matty, heard about Matty. . .he was definitely a presence. Matt made me feel like a queen as well as many others I am sure. His passing is definitely a reminder to anyone that you do not know what you've got till its gone. To be serious was something Matt rarely tried

But he must have known he would have a short life

Matt was a great kid and it is a shame something like this had to happen to such a good person. I bowled with him for several years at Rolling Meadows and he was always in such good spirits. Where to begin to describe Matt and what he meant? There aren't enough words in the world to describe how good of a person matt really was. No matter the situation or place, he was always having fun and making the best out of what he had and when around him it was extremely hard not to do the same because of his influence. Like they say "a picture is worth a thousand words" and if you took a picutre of matt, there would not be one negitive word said and way over a thousand positive words describing him. Everyday in my memories i will hear him say "What up Tree" just like whenever we saw eachother. Matt you will honestly never be forgotten ever. Rest In Peace Dawg.

Matt was an individual who was more than just a friend to a lot of people. Personally to me he was like a big brother, acting like as a body guard whenever we hung out. He always watched out for me. His friends were the most important thing to him. Lot of people say that when someone dies they go to heaven and party like no tomorrow, and for everyone who knew matt, they know that that is exactly what he is doing, as well looking over all of while we greive for him and his family.
