Mitchell Luntz Jones Jr.

1987 - 2018

Mitchell Luntz Jones, Jr., age 31, of Marietta, Ga., passed away on November 23, 2018. He was born in Erie, on August 7, 1987, the son of Mitchell L. Jones, Sr. and Tammy D. Jones.

Mitchell was a 2006 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Gannon University in 2013. He was a member of Victory Christian Center and worked in various sales positions. Mitchell enjoyed cooking and was the life of the party, always laughing, joking and playing games with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mildred (Pig) Jones; his uncles, Johnnie Lee, Ransom and Willie Ray Jones; and his great-great-grandmother, Margaret Hollingsworth.

In addition to his parents, Mitchell leaves to cherish him in memory six brothers, Shawn, Tyrael, DeAndre, Marvin, Mitchell, II and Erick; four sisters, Darsheika, Terrah, Ashley and Deamond; and four stepsisters, Porsha, Nykeasha, Shaneakwa and Leasia. He is further survived by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Jones; his uncles, Lance Jones, of Ohio, Lonnie L. Jones, of Erie, Pa. and James H. Jones (Karen), of Houston, Texas; and his aunts, Elase Jones and Evelyn Jones, of Erie, Pa. and Priscilla Jones, of Mississippi. Also surviving is his best friend, Valarria Hollingsworth Freeman; with an additional special acknowledgment by the family given to Garry Williams, Sr.

Friends may call at the Word of Life Christian Center, 660 Hess Avenue, Erie, PA 16504, on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m., with Bishop Dwane Brock presiding. Burial will follow at Erie Cemetery.
