As an upper classman teammate of mine many years ago at West Chester, Dave modeled for me, an incoming freshman, that commitment, hard work and having a good time (and not always necessarily in that order) would be the keys to my success. His incredible legacy speaks for itself. Anyone in the area's track and field fraternity can relate to the Gorman name. Back in those days in the 70's, there was an air of invincibility among us on the WCSC track and field team that for me continued through the present...Dave Gorman was the ring leader of that attitude in us back then and apparently continues to be, in all who know him now. This tragic news really challenged that long ago aquired mindset, but it only took seeing the LINE at Monahan's last Tuesday to know that Dave Gorman remains invincible in each and every one of those hearts and minds.

Steve, Tom & all the Gorman Family.
I just heard of Dave's passing last night. It was quite a shock. I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and, although I didn't see Dave much in recent years, I can still see his smile and remember the times we laughed and kidded around back in the old Fly By Night days. You have my deepest sympathy.

Steve and Tommy, So very sorry to learn of Dave's death. I still remember the three of you at Hagerman's pool -- like it was yesterday -- diving and swimming like pros. Our prayers and thoughts are with you in your time of grief. God Bless you and your families.

Dave was part a great family that was willing to help anyone that was willing to listen in the area of track and field. Almost anyone who has success locally in pole vaulting had some contact with Dave. His passion was magnetic. He will be missed.

The world has lost a wonderful and giving person. I remember Dave as always helping my parents, Howell & Mary King. He would start out painting and ended up just helping with everything. He was a Godsent. My parents thought the world of him. I am sure he is in heaven painting and helping everyone.

Dave,
I've known you for about 9 years and I am grateful to have known such a fun-loving guy. Everytime I was around you, you were always cracking a joke to make us laugh. You were Tyler's favorite person when he was young and growing up. You taught him many things but the two most important things was to love and always enjoy life. You will be sadly missed by all us. Love you always.

Ski trips will not even be close to being the same now that gregarious and lovable Gorman won't be there. His laugh made me laugh! I loved to watch him ski and ski with him! Dave, rip it up in heaven! I will miss you terribly. And to the Gorman Family, you are in my prayers during this difficult time.

We are going to miss Dave's laugh, his easy smile and the way he could rip on the ski slopes. The ski trips won't be the same without him. He was a good friend and we'll miss him deeply.

I had the pleasure of knowing Dave since our freshman year in college in 1972. We have been friends ever since that time. One thing that eases my mind in this time of tragedy, is that anyone who knew Dave can honor him by displaying his kindness and gentle approach to life. If every one treated others as Dave did this world would be a much better place.

God Speed Dave. Our hearts are filled with great memories and the ease with which you made us all laugh. We will truly miss you. Skiing with Dave was just pure excitement, we remember with joy our days on the hill.
You will always be in our hearts.

It is hard to make sence of a tragedy such as this. It is made easier only by the fact that there is no doubt that a soul like Dave's will live forever in heaven. Dave was an inspiration to me and many others and i will honor his memory every day in all that i do. The Gorman family thanks you all for your kind words and sympathy in these hard times

I was truly shocked to hear of Dave's passing. His family and close friends are in my thoughts and prayers. I knew Dave through track and field and found him funny, personable, witty, and competitive, yet willing to help anyone at any time. He will be missed by many and his passing is a loss to all who knew him.
