Erma Dutterer Obituary

HANOVER Erma S. Dutterer, 92, went to join her family in Heaven on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at her home. Erma was the loving wife of Stanley W. Dutterer until his death on September 23, 1986. Born August 19, 1917, near Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Ernest G. and Maude M. (Leister) Strickhouser. Mrs. Dutterer graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1936. She worked for the Hanover Shoe Company for 37 years as a shipping clerk. Surviving are two sons, Stanley W. Dutterer, Jr. of Hanover and his companion, Carol A. Thompson, Wayne E. Dutterer of Hope Mills, N.C., and his companion, Kathy Hoke; five grandchildren, Shari Colehouse, Neal Dutterer, Wayne Dutterer, Jr., Rory Dutterer, and Angie Durant; 12 greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Strickhouser and his wife, Teresa of Hanover; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest A. Strickhouser and Henry A. Strickhouser. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Erma's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Serving as casketbearers will be Phil Strickhouser, Neal Dutterer, Wayne Dutterer, Jr., Brandon Schrum, Gilbert Colehouse, and Chris Brown. Memorial contributions in honor of Erma may be made to the charity of your choice. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.kenworthyfh.com

Please accept my sincere sympathy. Erma loved her family so much and told many nice stories of past parties and birthday celebrations. May you have peace with the knowledge that Erma is now with "Butch" and they are happy to be together, again.
