Shirley Bowman Obituary
Shirley Ann Bowman, 89, of Southport, NC, and formerly of Hanover, PA, entered God's Eternal Care, Friday, June 18, 2021 at the Liberty Commons Nursing Home, Southport, NC.
Born May 7, 1932, in Hanover, PA she was the daughter of the late Russell, Sr. and Stella (Smith) Berwager. She was the loving wife of Kenneth E. Bowman with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.
Shirley was a former member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.
Shirley was a graduate of Hanover High School. She was an executive secretary for the Lana Lobell and Hanover House catalog companies until her retirement.
In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed camping, boating, and swimming with her family.
In addition to her loving husband Kenneth, Shirley is survived by a daughter, Pam Lamonica; three grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson, Luke Lamonica, and Kristin Lamonica; and two great grandchildren, Jeffrey and Joshua. She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Berwager, Jr. and sister Betty Gerards.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Shirley's life will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Kirk A. Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Shirley's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.kenworthyfh.com.

My sympathy to the family. I worked with Shirley at Hanover House. She was a great friend. I think of her every time I drive by her Fame Ave home. She loved my fudge. Beautiful picture! Just how I remember her. Love to your family.
