William E. Devilbiss

TANEYTOWN, MD William E. 'Bill' Devilbiss, 68, died suddenly on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at the Gettysburg Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Mary K. (Lowe) Devilbiss. Born January 1, 1942, in Taneytown, Md., he was the son of the late Myrle Reifsnider and Dorothy Louise (Dutrow) Devilbiss. Bill served with the PA National Guard from 1966-78. He worked in quality control as a supervisor for 28 years with Telemecanique and later with Black and Decker. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and gun collecting. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Jeff A. Devilbiss of Westminster, Md., and Brian K. Devilbiss of Gettysburg; granddaughters, Rachel and Rebecca Devilbiss; and brother, Robert L. Devilbiss of Taneytown, Md. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, Md., with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Private interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant U.M. Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
