Bartlesville - Marie (Denise) Turowski, 70, of Bartlesville, OK, passed away from COPD on July 16, 2021, in Bartlesville, OK.
Denise was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to David and Margaret Albin on December 17, 1950. She went to elementary and high school at Jenks, Bixby, and Checotah, graduating in 1969. After high school, she attended Northeastern State University, graduating in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Education. While in college, she met Larry Turowski and married him on January 24, 1970, in Council Hill, Oklahoma. Denise worked as a high school business teacher for Chetopa High School for 17 years and at Scott Community High School for 4 years. While at Chetopa, she was the drill team and cheerleading sponsor. She also was class sponsor for Junior and Senior classes. Denise was an excellent teacher and was loved by her students. She was very involved with 4H and FFA, serving on the fair board for several years. She was also a Sunday School and Children's Church teacher at Chetopa First Christian Church. In her younger days, Denise enjoyed playing tennis. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed all types of card and board games. She also was crafty, crocheting and doing ceramics.
What Denise enjoyed most was spending time with her family. Larry and Denise had three boys, Patrick, Daniel, and Kevin. She very rarely missed an activity they were involved in, whether it be 4H, band, plays, athletics, or church activities. Denise also loved going on family vacations in the summer and seeing a lot of the United States. As the boys grew up and had kids of their own, she enjoyed playing board games and doing puzzles with her grandsons, Lucas and Johnathan.
Denise is preceded in death by her parents, David & Margaret Albin; brothers, Richard and Johnny Albin and son, Patrick Turowski.
Denise is survived by her husband, Larry and sons, Daniel and wife, Stacey and Kevin and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Lucas and Johnathan and one brother Charles Albin and his wife, Vicki.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in the Chapel of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home with interment in Bartlesville Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, 9am-5pm and memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to the Lighthouse Outreach Center of Bartlesville or Agape Mission, Bartlesville.
