Mary Estes Obituary

Mary Lee Estes, 92, died at 7:15 AM on Monday.
Mary Lee Estes was born December 24, 1922 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Muskogee Oklahoma where she was raised by Rose and Bonner Green. She graduated from high school in Muskogee in 1940. She was married to William David Estes on October 7, 1944 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Mrs. Estes attended Oklahoma University for a year and a half. In 1951, she moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma and later sold real estate for two years and then was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company from 1969-1996 where she worked as a paralegal analyst and retired at age 73. Mr. and Mrs. Estes moved to Norman in 1985 and lived there until 2002 when they moved back to Bartlesville. In 2012, Mrs. Estes moved to Cary, North Carolina and lived with her daughter and son in-law.
Survivors include her son David Lawrence Estes and his wife Kristine of Owasso, Oklahoma; one daughter, Patricia Ann Estes and her husband Coby Schal of Cary, North Carolina; three grandchildren Lyndsay, Jaimee and Caleb; one nephew Larry DeMaio and his wife Regina of Tulsa; three great nieces and nephews Nicholas, Christian and Isabella DeMaio. Mrs. Estes was preceded in death by her parents, husband and infant son William David Estes Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, February 1 at Bartlesville First Church, 4715 SE Price Rd., Bartlesville, OK 74006. Donations in memory of Mrs. Estes can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, tribute number 37586421.
