Ramona Wright Obituary

Ramona L. Wright, Shidler area resident since 1953, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at her home.  She was 81 years of age.
Ramona was born on Aug. 30, 1928 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Neal Clark Panther and Viney A. Tannahill Panther.  She grew up in Pawhuska.  She married Harley Ray Wright on March 6, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico.  Ramona was employed at Deihl Drugstore, the Diehl's Foodliner and OTASCO for many years in Shidler as well as Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby and Dollar General in Ponca.  Ramona enjoyed working with the public and her co-workers.
Ramona loved all animals, especially her cats and dogs she rescued, and the family pet raccoon, Ralph Leroy Wright.  Ramona could never turn away a sick or abandoned animal.  Ramona was always ready for big family gatherings or a trip with good friends. Other enjoyments included her flower beds and spending time at the lake with family.
She is survived by her children, Robert Avery and wife, Jane of Ada , Oklahoma, Earl Scott Wright and wife, Linda Lee of Hobbs, New Mexico, Linda Wickham and husband, Jim of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Vickie Fay Lehman and Brian Brookshire of Shidler; one brother, R.C. Panther; grandchildren, James Lee Barton, Kayla Nikole Wright, James Arlow Wickham, Jr., Lori Cannella and Andrea Lehman; and great grandchildren, Elizabeth Wickham, Jordan Richardson, Kegan Richardson, Cory Barton, Julian Fox and Evelyn Grace Cannella.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Wright, her parents, Clark and Viney Panther; son, Gary Avery; and grandson, Scotty Ray Wright.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at the Shidler United Methodist Church with Reverend Gary D. Moody officiating assisted by Ivy Collier. Burial will follow at Pawhuska City Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.  Ramona will lie in state at the church from Monday until her service. 
Casket bearers for the service will be David Lehman, Pat Patton, Richard Robinson, Glen O'brien, Neal McConaghy and Glen McConaghy.
Honorary casket bearers are Danny Alexander and Bob (Moose) Robertson.
