Carol Anway

CAROL LEE ANWAY Gilbert - Carol Lee Anway, 83, passed away on May 3, 2023, in Gilbert, Ariz. She was born on July 11, 1939, in Rich Hill, Mo. to her parents Everett and Neva Anderson. Carol was an active member of her church and community, known for her positivity, love for people and organizing events, and passion for music. She fought valiantly against Parkinson's disease for the last 21 years of her life. Carol received her M.S. Ed. in Guidance and Counseling and worked as an elementary school teacher before becoming a school counselor. She later began working in Christian Education for her church, Community of Christ, where she began writing books. After retiring, she continued to write and self-publish, which became the passion of her life. Carol was an ordained elder in the priesthood and worshipped at multiple Community of Christ congregations in and around the Independence, Mo. area and Chandler, Ariz. She is survived by her sons David Anway, Paul Anway, and daughter Jodi Anway Carboni, as well as grandchildren Emaun Anway and Fatemeh Mohammadzadeh. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Joseph H Anway, who passed in 2017. They were married for 59 years. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 10, 2023, at 1 p.m. at The Stone Church Community of Christ located at 1012 W Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64050.
