Joan Goodall Obituary
Joan C. Goodall, 85, of Rindge, New Hampshire, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 5, 2022, in her home.
Joan, affectionately referred to as "Ma" or "Grammy" was born on November 22, 1936, in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Peters.
She was a 1954 graduate of Arundel High School. After graduation, she married Robert E. Goodall "Bob" on November 6, 1954, in Millersville, Maryland and shortly thereafter relocated to Fitchburg, MA where they spent the next 30 years growing their family with the births of their three children: Brenda, David, and Darrell. Joan and Bob then relocated to their forever home in Rindge, NH. They also maintained several seasonal campsites in Maine where they spent their summers.
Joan enjoyed hosting many family get-togethers at their home in Rindge and at their trailer in Maine. It was there that Joan's best memories were made surrounded by family, and friends that became family. Joan was always the life of the party and loved to dance. Joan was also a proud Unitil/Fitchburg Gas & Electric employee for many years until she retired.
When not surrounded by friends and family, Joan enjoyed antiquing, hiking, working out in her yard and quiet days in her sunroom. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Joan is predeceased by her parents; Samuel and Margaret Peters, her husband of 60 years, Robert E. Goodall, grandsons; Evan and Derek Goodall, and her beloved dogs; Pepper and Charlie.
She is survived by her children; Brenda Sullivan and her husband Paul of Lunenburg, MA, Darrell Goodall and his wife Karen of Westminster, MA, and David Goodall of Ashburnham, MA, seven grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
Joan will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA in the spring.
