John Brault Obituary

John "Chris" Brault
lifelong resident of Leominster; 58

John "Chris" Brault, 58, passed into eternal rest on November 28, 2017. John "Chris" was born in Worcester, MA on July 28, 1959 to Bernard R. Brault and Nicole J. (Norroy) Brault but was raised in and was a lifelong resident of Leominster.

John "Chris" had a special vision of life and nature that he shared through his photography which can be seen or has been shared throughout Leominster and Fitchburg. He made contributions to multiple issues of the Leominster Economic Resource Guides, as well as the Fitchburg Resource Guide, and he donated his time and photography toward many causes. Chris was instrumental in the Leominster Art Association, had his work displayed in the Fitchburg Art Museum, and has shared his talent through the displays that are in the Leominster Public Library where he also taught photography classes.

For most of his life, Chris has had a special love for ALL children. He started working at the Leominster Multi-service Center when very young, then later the Perkin's Institute in Lancaster, and more recently has been in the Fitchburg School System for many years as a substitute teacher.

Chris enjoyed writing poetry, creating personal picture cards, framing photographs, spending time at the gym, spin classes, walking, going to the movies with his friends and had a love for the sun. Above all else, his greatest passion was for his family and friends and he loved nothing more than spending time together and helping out.

Chris was predeceased by his father, Bernard R. Brault and his paternal grandparents Raymond and Blanche Brault.

He is survived by his mother, Nicole J. Brault of Dover, DE. Family members include five brothers: Bernard R. C. Brault and wife Beth of Billings, MT, Philip W. Brault and wife Joanne of Gardner, MA, Vincent P. Brault of Costa Mesa, CA, Jerome L. Brault of Rindge, NH, Richard P. Brault of Dover, DE; two sisters: Anne E. Evans and husband Mark of Rindge, NH, Nicole T. Desmarais and husband David of Smyrna, DE; five nephews: Justin, Brent, Jason, Joshua, Jonathan; four nieces: Nadine, Catherine, Abigail, Natalie; four great-nieces, four great-nephews, two Godchildren, two uncles, an aunt, cousins and many close friends.

There will be no calling hours but there will be a private family service. Plans are being made for a Celebration of Life gathering in honor of John "Chris" to take place in early spring of 2018. Chris' family greatly appreciates the love, support, and prayers shared by all. THE CURLEY MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 89 West St., Leominster assisted the family with all arrangements.

My Uncle Chris taught me how to ride a bike, and encouraged my love and passion for art. I think of him often and fondly. I stumbled upon this page today, and am so moved reading all of the wonderful things people have to say about him.

To the family of Chris;
I am heartbroken to hear of the loss of Chris. I am so sad that I just now learned of his passing after reading about the display of his work at the library this month . Chris was a very special person - so warm, so caring and bubbly and so very talented. He always made me laugh and oh my gosh, all that energy he had ! I will forever be reminded of him when I look at one of the lovely photos he gave us as a housewarming gift. I will miss seeing him at the wine tastings and around town and wondered why I have not seen his sweet smiling face for some time . Now I understand. My heart goes out to his family and my love and prayers to a very special friend who made my life brighter . Cindy

We are heart broken to hear the news. Our deepest condolences go out to the Brault family. We are so sorry for your immense loss. John Chris was one of the kindest people I ever got to meet. He took care of my husband and his brothers when they were young and they loved him very much. He loved them, protected them and cared about them when they were young and never stopped caring even as they grew into adults. We loved receiving his personalized photo cards and loved hearing from him. Dear John Chris, until we all meet again and again, may your journey be full of peace, love and joy. May you know how loved you are and how missed you will always be. Thank you for being you. Thank you for all your love. All our love,

My Dearest Angel, a kind & gentle soul that always gave from the heart! A true artist in life for beauty was always embraced & appreciated daily. I loved you then & forever! I'm thankful our paths crossed 30 plus years ago. A true comedic that always had me in stitches, even in the midst of chaos. I LOVE displaying your beautiful work of art (photos) that adorn my home. I'm blessed to have had you share a part of my life & am so thankful to have shared yours. We shared a LOVE of children & they brought us to our finest place of giving LOVE. You are truly at peace & I'm happy for you & will forever miss your gift~YOU!!!

December 15, 2017

Chris was the most beautiful person I knew and was very lucky to grow up with him and have him for my best friend. He was the best UNCLE that my sister and I could have ever asked for our children and their children. Always thinking of everyone else and being kind to even those he did not know, a stranger on the street. how does one go each day without that phone call or stop by at work to "drop something off" or let me know about one, two.. of his hundreds of friends or family. The kind words of love and support, memories and knowing that he is at peace with the ones he loved and missed. His heart was filled with so much love for everyone, but there was a small part that was lost to him and only him. Chris was the center of our family and there is BIG hole where he reigned. We are all very blessed to have had his love, support and friendship throughout our lives. I love you Chris and I will miss you every day of this life. XOXOXO ANNE

We offer our condolences to the Brault family. I am truly saddened by his passing. I went to school with the family at St. Cecilia's and ran into Chris a few years back at Michael's Art Supply. He was so upbeat and encouraged my son who is an artist to follow his passion. I can see from the comments that he has touched many lives. Rest in peace my friend.

My sincere condolences to the Brault family on their heartbreaking loss. To me, Chris was a friend, a great friend who started out as my neighbor, and welcomed me to the neighborhood. I liked him immediately...his sweetness, his warmth, his kind nature. Like most people, I will miss him forever. Whenever we ran into each other, it was never a "short chat"...that was impossible. He asked about me, my family, my life. So glad I saw him just a week or so ago at CVS, and we had a great talk, and laughed til we had tears in our eyes. That's how I'll always remember Chris. So special, so loved by many.

I was so shocked to see this this morning in the paper. I was just speaking to Chris at the post office not too long ago. We talked for an hour. Chris was such a loving friend to me and my family and my children. He did a beautiful photo shoot of us about 20 years ago and I will treasure all those pictures. He worked at my gym where I worked teaching spin classes and putting a smile on everyone's faces. He will be missed. Rest Sweet Soul.

I spoke with Chris a few weeks before his passing. He was always so concerned about others and especially his family and would go out of his way to say hi to me. I'll miss the times I use to work traffic details and he would stop in the middle of traffic just to say hi and bring me water or just to see how I was doing. Then he would see traffic build up behind him and say "oops, gotta go", and smile as he was driving away. RIP Chris.

I am so sad to read this. We were really just casual acquaintances. I met Chris many years ago when he used to frame my photos/art at Michaels. Even when I only came in once or twice a year he would remember me and ask about my kids. I ran into him about 4-5 months ago while at a local gas station. He came over to say hi and remembered my name. We talked for a few minutes. Chris was so kind and sweet and friendly. Although we didn't know each other well, he always seemed delighted to see me. I always felt like he was one of those people that just added a shining light to the world. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. A star has gone out.
