Kathleen Hoey Obituary
LUNENBURG -- Kathleen 'Kate' A. Hoey, 64,
a resident of Lunenburg since 1988, died Wednesday, June 1, in the University of Mass Medical Center, Worcester, after a short illness, with her family by her side.
She was born on September 2, 1951, in Schuylerville, NY, a daughter of the late William and Vera (Lancier) Hoey.
She was the proud mother of two sons, Anthony Tinnirella of New York, New York and Jeffrey W. Hoey and his wife Danielle of Fitchburg. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Chuck Blanchard of Lunenburg; her sister, Ann Spezio of Leominster; and one niece and two nephews.
Kathleen was a 1969 graduate of Schuylerville High School and a 1972 graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, where she received her Degree in Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse and as a visiting Nurse for several years. She also served as an RSC at the Joseph House in Fitchburg and most recently at Leominster Crossing. She loved her work as a nurse, but her greatest joy was raising her sons.
She attended the United Parish in Lunenburg. She enjoyed gardening, being near the beach and listening to her sons, who are musicians. She loved her two cats, Cassie and Callie.
HOEY-- A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, at 1 p.m. in the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Mass Ave., Lunenburg, MA. Rev. Mary Ann Barry will be the Celebrant.
Calling hours at the funeral home are on Saturday, June 11, from Noon to 1 p.m.
Interment will be private.
Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Donate Life America (www.donatelife.net) to raise awareness about organ donation or can be left at the Funeral Home.

Anthony and Jeffrey,
So sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a great lady and the best as far as nurses go! I ran into her out in her yard within the past year when I was on one of my walks from John St. And she mentioned how I used to play street hockey with you guys when you lived a couple doors down the street. Thinking of you and don't worry she's keeping an eye on you from up above:)

Anthony, Jeffrey and Danielle,
I just wanted to say how wonderful of a person Kate was. She was one of the kindest people I have ever met. Very sweet and loving. She welcomed Danielle into her home as a daughter. I will never forget the Thanksgiving we spent at her home and she even welcomed my huge Sullivan to join everyone without even meeting him. Rescuing two cats into her home will never be forgotten. She will be missed by so many people including very missed by me.
