She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years William H. Brown Jr., who died in 2008. She was also predeceased by a brother, Russell B. Steele.

She leaves two sons, David R. Brown and his wife Amy of New Bern, NC, Eric W. Brown and his partner Bernadette Progin of Lunenburg; one daughter, Amy M. LaFlamme and her husband John of Lunenburg; six grandchildren, Timothy Brown and his wife Kristen, Matricia Cordio, Kimberly Heath and her husband Andrew, Nicholas Brown, Lindsay Bramlett and her husband Robert and Troy LaFlamme; four great-grandchildren, Maddox and Trevor Brown and William and Joshua Heath; and her beloved dog Daisy.

Lorna always had a love for family, friends, flower gardens, cake decorating, canning vegetables, and especially her kitties. She loved to laugh and would be the first to offer help to anyone in need. Lorna spent many years dedicating her time to the church.

She was born in Boxborough, MA, on December 24, 1929, a daughter of the late Burpee F., and Myrtle J. (Monsen) Steele and grew up in Boxborough, MA and later moved to Lunenburg in 1955.

Amy, Eric & David,
I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet mom. I was away on vacation, otherwise I would have come to the funeral. You did a phenomenal job on taking care of her. I can only imagine how difficult it was for you guys. She was blessed to have you there for her. I prayed every time you posted on FB Amy [I'm not on FB all the time & rarely post anything]. I appreciated how you shared her days with us. I have fond memories of visiting all of you at the farm.

Amy and David, I was so glad to visit with you and you Mom the week before she passed away. I loved it when she smiled after I told her that Steele Farm in Boxborough would be preserved and protected, just as she and her Dad had wanted. I and the Town of Boxborough have been enriched by her devotion to preserving the Farm where she grew up and where she shared so many happy times with her family and friends. I love you, Lorna.
