Salvatore “Sam” Ingel was born on Dec. 4, 1942. He leaves behind his grandchildren: Matthew, Nicholas, Troy, Sydney Ingel and Conner Poche. Memorial donations also can be made to the Reingold School Playground Fund, 70 Reingold Ave., Fitchburg, MA 01420.

When I met Sam 17 years ago for the first time at his Italian Restaurant in Fitchburg "Antonios" I knew he was a special person , And soon after that Sam and I became good friends and started working together.I always enjoyed myself around Sam, no matter how things were going, good or bad, in business or life: Sam was always happy he never complained, it took very little to keep him happy. He understood life and knew what to expect out of it. He always found time to enjoy life while working. After 16 hour days in NY. GA. CT. or wherever the job was, he was always ready and willing to go on the road on a short notice, for work or fun. 24 hours a day seven days a week.
We made great traveling partners we both had the same dress habits, shorts in the summer sweats in the winter. One hour notice and we are ready to go. Sunny Florida or a construction site in Birmingham, Alabama.
He was always the first person at work and the last person to leave. Sam loved what he did. Sam is the smartest person I know in his line of work. No matter what the job was I knew that Sam would end up teaching the professionals he was working with something they didn't know about the trade. Electricians, Plumbers, Roofers, Site construction, professional engineers, etc.
Sam had the knowledge of 100 professionals, he always showed people how to do it. But never said I told you so!
One of the first jokes I played on Sam was many years ago when I first met him. He was running his restaurant, and he had very good meatballs. My buddy and I called his Restaurant and left a message we were from the Northend and we heard that he had the best meatballs around. We accused him of stealing our recipe. We asked him to come to the Northend and meet with us. We needed a sit down right away! and stop serving the meatballs. We had him really worked up. Sam came to the Restaurant to meet with the owner. I watched him ask for the owner until he noticed me in the corner eating a meatball sandwich.
Another time Sam and I went to a gentleman's club after a long day. Sam talked me into oil wrestling five round. That took ten years off my life, but Sam really enjoyed watching me oil wrestle so I did it.
Sam brought so much happiness to me I looked forward to putting a smile on his face.
Another time Sam and I were drinking in Las Vegas at a casino, there was a young drunk 30 years younger mouthing off. Sam told him to shut up or i'm going to take you outside and teach you some manners,he shut up.
"Loosing Sammy" A part of my life will never be the same. I always looked forward to seeing him, knowing it was going to be a good day.
Sam didn't only teach me everything I know about construction business, but also much about life in general.
I learned from watching Sam, what you have in life but what it takes to get it.
Sam was always willing to give so much but, be happy with so little. Sam is my Father, my Brother, my Friend, my Teacher and everything good in life.
I will miss you everyday of my life, until I see you again, I pray you are one of the first people I see on the other side, and we pick up where we left off.
